SharePoint Sites Web Part

Summary

The SharePoint Sites web part allows users to “follow” SharePoint sites across the scope of your web farm. Users may view the site icon, site title and recent content for the SharePoint sites they have chosen to follow.

The screen snap to the right shows an example where the user is following the “Home” site. The pane farther below, labeled Nearby SharePoint Sites, will open upon click and display all sites within the current site collection.

What is required?

The Jive SharePoint web part requires Windows SharePoint Services v3.0 and the Microsoft.net Framework v3.5.

How do I install it?

Installation is easy and straightforward. Save the installation files to the file system of your SharePoint web server and use the enclosed installer package, setup_jive.sharepoint_standalone.exe. The wizard based interface will guide you through the installation steps. You will need to select the site collections onto which the web part should be installed.

How do I use it?

The site collection feature, Jive SharePoint Web Parts, will be activated by the installer adding the SharePoint Sites web part to the web part gallery. You are then free to add the Jive SharePoint Sites web part to any SharePoint web part page.
